Wesley College has a sustainability component in its Master Plan. The Campus Environmental Sustainability Planning Team helped to initiate a greenhouse gas inventory and a recycling program. The college requires the purchase of Energy Star qualified products. President Johnston has signed the Presidents' Climate Commitment.
Climate Change & Energy

The college has completed its first greenhouse gas emissions inventory. Wesley has committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 30 percent below 2009 levels by 2013. They have installed energy controls and have replaced existing lighting fixtures with T8 electronic ballasts and controls.
Food & Recycling

Wesley spends 26 percent of its annual food budget on locally grown items including local dairy, and another 10 percent on items that were processed locally. Some preconsumer food scraps are composted and dining halls are trayless on some days. The school diverts 40 percent of its waste from the landfill.

Wesley mandates that all new building, remodeling and upgrades of building facilities must meet the LEED Certified criteria. The college diverts 30 percent of its construction waste from landfills.
Student Involvement

Team Cannon is Wesley College's Environmental Advocacy Club. The group participates in a activities on and off campus such as Adopt A Wetland. The college participates in RecycleMania.
Transportation

The college offers a free shuttle to local shopping venues and other area colleges. The campus Master Plan is designed to remove many of the roadways that cross campus, as well as parking areas, to support alternative modes of transportation.
