Campus Dining has made the commitment to purchase 40%  of our food locally (grown or produced) by 2013. we are currently purchasing 20% of our food   

locally.

The Vassar Farm is home to the Poughkeepsie Farm Project, among other things, a local CSA. We purchase root crops and winter squash from them at the end of their growing season. Additionally, the college greenhouses supply the dining halls with fresh herbs (basil, cilantro, parsley, and rosemary).
