Key issues addressed and programs implemented since August 2008: running a volunteer, cooperative, organic & local produce stand called "The Local" once a week on campus; running a Responsible Investments Campaign; coordinating annual EarthWeek events in April (guest speakers, film screenings, pic nics, etc), making and distributing One Side Clean notebooks; supporting a groups of students working on starting a permanent sustainable foods cooperative deli and grocery on or near campus
Progress made on each issue/program since August 2008:
The Local: it kep running smoothly
Responissble Investments Campaign: wrote a six page proposal for UCB's endowment managers and met with administrators to discuss it
EarthWeek: hosted successful week of events that a few hundred students participated in
One Side Clean notebooks: made and distributed hundreds of notebooks
food co-op: advocated for a student-run food co-op and provided some administrative support to a group of students who just received $106,000 to open up a sustainable foods grocery and deli cooperative on or near campus.
other: amended ASUC by-laws to clarify and strengthen the role of the Sustainability Team and the Director of Sustainability in the student government; secured $2,000 from the ASUC for our programs next year
