Progress made on each issue/program since August 2008:
In the spring we held a faculty and community leader lecture series monthly. Speakers included John Ackerman (President of the Alabama Sierra Club), Julia Cherry (Professor Research Wetland Ecosystem Response to sea-level rise), Tony Johnson (UA Recycling Coordinator), Leslie Rissler ( Professor researching the habitat of salamanders)
Sponsored 13 University of Alabama Students to attend the Powershift 2009
conference (Lobbied every Representative and Senate office from Alabama for clean
energy)
Partnered with the University of Alabama Logistics Department for the operation of Glass Recycling Drive.
Expanding Recycling Drive to encompass all commuter lots and accept Paper, plastic, aluminum, cardboard, and magazines.
Green Fair held in the fall to showcase environmental organizations and course offerings,
Earthfest, our preliminary Earthday event held in the Spring showcased over 20 sustainably conscious businesses, community organizations, university organizations and faculty departments, while also celebrating local visual art and music.

[X ] Yes. Please describe:
The Director of Environmental Concerns (Justinn Trott) heads the Department
of Environmental Concerns as part of the student government. (See her survey for greater detail.)
Also the University Administration formed an Environmental Stewardship Committee which has two student representatives.
OTHER ACTIVITIES
4) Please describe any additional campus sustainability activities or projects that you or your group has initiated at your school:
America Recycles Day Awareness Campaign
Our organization vice president designed a Green Guide to be distributed to incoming freshman during orientation as a reference material for recycling protocols, energy conservation tips, and community resources for environmental involvement.
We developed our organization website and blog this year.
