Progress made on each issue/program since August 2008: This is the first year that Spring into Green has been held. It will be a annual event with the city of Lubbock, TTU, and several other organizations. The progress we made this year can be seen on the web site listed above. TTU Arbor day, this was the first year that student organizations volunteered to host several events throughout the week to advocate and teach other students about sustainability. It is also the first year that Arbor day made the commitment to recycle the waste that it produced. TTU’s green campus action plan was a great success, this is the first time in Tech history that we have reached TTU system members about the need for sustainability. The outcome of this plan is that the Vice Chancellor of facilities and planning is on board to make a official sustainability committee that will document and guide the university to a more sustainable future.
