Key issues addressed and programs implemented since August 2008: 

1) Student Organic Farm:http://www.clemson.edu/sustainableag/student_farm.html   

2) Picture Green: Art exhibition celebrating sustainability  (website coming soon) 

3) Football Recycling [SEA coordinates recycling pick-up and organization efforts for the 80,000+ fans that tailgate around the stadium for home football games. ]

4)National Teach-in for global warming solutions:http://www.nationalteachin.org [A nation wide campus program in which teachers incorporate sustainability into the current course curriculum.  SEA encouraged teacher participation and hosted an event which included speakers, movies, and vendors to share different aspects of sustainability.]

5) Garden Fest [The focus of the event was gardening.  Different organizations including Clemson's Organic Farm, Botanical Garden, and others participated. SEA helped set up the event, spoke to guests about sustainability on campus, and raised money for Solid Green]

Marketing Sustainability

1.      Campus Environmental Sustainability Class

               i.  Creating a sustainability webpage to serve as a medium to allow cross-communication between the different campus projects related to sustainability since the campus "does not need a sustainability office" This website that SEA is helping to create will serve as a virtual substitute .

3.    Engineers Without Borders (EWB)

a.    Engineers Without Borders - USA (EWB-USA) is a non-profit humanitarian organization established to partner with developing communities worldwide in order to improve their quality of life. This partnership involves the implementation of sustainable engineering projects, while involving and training internationally responsible engineers and engineering students.

6.    Solid Green

a.    Solid Green: For a Better Future is Clemson’s anti-litter and environmental sustainability campaign. Its mission is to promote a “green” campus by coordinating and sponsoring events that further Clemson’s commitment to the environment and sustainability. The goals of Solid Green are to raise awareness of littering on campus, recycling, energy and water conservation and other environmental issues; to promote clean-up activities and other events; and to support student groups that promote environmental awareness.

7.    Students for Environmental Awareness (SEA)

a.    Since 1990, SEA has been committed to uniting caring individuals and raising awareness of important environmental issues all across Clemson's campus.

8.    Tigers for Tigers

a.    Tigers for Tigers sponsor and raise money for an organization in India called Tiger Trust that helps to educate local people and provide money for tiger parks that help to preserve wild tigers in their natural habitats. We have an international trip every spring break to India to see the tiger parks and to bring supplies and donations that help keep the parks in working order. We have fundraising projects throughout the year to raise money and awareness for our beloved mascot.

9.    Wildlife Society

a.    We are a professional organization for students going into the wildlife and natural resources field. We host fundraiser events, volunteer with SC Dept. of Natural Resources and the local 4-H club, and participate in other community service opportunities.
