Key issues addressed and programs implemented since August 2008: ECCO has continued to publicize our student green initiative that led to a $20 per student fee to support purchase of renewable energy credits from the Mother Ann Lee hydrostation. ECCO conducted a waste audit of trash in two dumpsters on campus. The purpose was to determine the amount of disposed material that could have been recycled and to publicize that information.

#1 - Name of competition: Dormitory Energy Challenge
Year initiated: 2009
Frequency of competition: This was our first competition and we anticipate repeating this event.
Participants: North Side Dorms (Acheson, Caldwell, Cheek, Evans, Yerkes) competed versus Old Quad Dorms (Cooper, Ganfield, LaMotte, Tyler, Stephenson, Vinson)
Incentives: donuts and assorted pastries
Goal of competition: increased awareness of energy conservation, and reduction in electricity and natural gas consumption
Percent of energy reduced: unknown
Lasting effects of competition: Increased awareness of energy conservation, particularly among residents of Yerkes Hall.

OTHER ACTIVITIES
4) Please describe any additional campus sustainability activities or projects that you or your group has initiated at your school: Visit to Mother Ann Lee hydrostation in October 2008. About 25 students and faculty picnicked at Shaker Landing then paddled the Kentucky River and toured the entire dam and generating station. Tours were led by the owners/engineers of Soft Energy, the company restoring and operating the facility. This event was co-sponsored by Student Government Association, ECCO, and CORE.
5) Please list and briefly describe any other student-run organizations related to campus sustainability at your school, and provide URLs if available (e.g., student groups; student government committees; student-run food co-ops, gardens/farms, bike co-ops) and provide contact information of the student leaders, if possible: Our Student Government Association was very instrumental in the campaign for a green energy fee.
Centre Outdoor Recreation and Service co-sponsored our event at Mother Ann Lee hydrostation and has worked with a local service organization on restoration of riparian buffer zone on a local waterway.
Our biology honorary organization, Tri-Beta, has also worked with the local service organization on eradication of invasive species and planting of native trees in the riparian buffer zone of a local waterway.
