STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS
1) Please describe the student-run campus environmental/sustainability organization in which you have a leadership role.

The Bryant University Student Senate has three tri goals each year for the Senate to focus on as the three main issues on campus or three main concerns of the student body at large.  One of the three tri goals was Going Green on campus, drawing attention to both Energy conservation and Resource Conservation. I served as a co chair to this tri goal overseeing the resource conservation aspect. We established more accessible recycling bins in the main buildings on campus including the Unistructure and the Bryant Center, along with that we entered the University in the nationwide Recycle mania competition for the first time ever. We hosted green week and green day, informed each resident hall of the proper way of recycling and had a table in the Rotunda to address student questions about our role as a student run environmental organization.

EGL took part in Bryant's "Go Green or Go Home" day by creating a trivia game using various sustainability topics. Participants had the chance to win gym towels that said "Save a tree, sweat on me" in order to cut back the use of paper towels if they knew the answers to the questions. We also tracked and encouraged recyclemania progress during biweekly meetings. We were also tracking the Coca-Cola bin grant process; it unfortunately pushed the application opening back for a while and it has yet to open. Weekly "Go Green" articles were also featured in the newspaper.
