ENERGY EFFICIENCY

We have a comprehensive energy efficiency program- using Energy Management System, Controls, Lighting, and Steam Upgrades to the heating plant.

Residential: Eco-Reps worked in the residential dorms during 2008-2009 schools year. We have an energy competition, a light bulb swap, and a campus energy fair

Offices: Sustainability Reps- over 30 staff members help promote efficiency in their office. We worked to get the technology department to agree that turning off the computers at night was ok. Now all staff is advised to turn off computers and peripherals. Presentation have been given to many departments about their energy use.

Expansion plans for Behavioral conservations efforts are a central part of the upcoming Climate Action Pan

-   Student Union: Undergraduate Student governmental body, representative sits on BEST committee, passes resolutions, engages in community educations, and partners with clubs on environmental issues. Offers the ‘DeisBikes, bicycle sharing program.
